Mr. Anand Naralkar, the founder of the Company, along with Mr. Narayanrao V. Kanetkar, formed a partnership firm called - Kanetar Associates in 1969. Over the last three decades the firm executed some of the most prestigious projects in Pune. Many of these projects are landmarks not only in the terms of the trade but, in that, they touch upon the lives of most Puneites. Mr. Naralkar also started a family owned partnership firm called - `Vastushilp', in November 1969. This firm was the forerunner to Suma Engineering Private Limited (now Suma Shilp Limited). Over the years, the Company and its associate concerns executed over 50 residential schemes for a clientele of over thousand families from India and abroad. In 1983, Mr. Pramod A. Naralkar joined forces with his father. Mr. Pramod Naralkar has a civil engineering degree from IIT Mumbai & post graduation at the Duke University, USA where he majored in Structural Engineering, and business administration. Projects under construction are- Downtown The City Center (DTC) A 350,000 sq.ft. multi-use commercial building in Erandawane, Pune, with a 35,000 sq.ft. floor plate and top quality internal and external specifications. DTC is the first all in Erandawane featuring retail and entertainment areas, restaurants and food courts and an IT park. Westend The largest commercial development in Aundh Westend, is a 12,50,000 sq.ft. integrated commercial development in Aundh, Pune, featuring a shopping mall, entertainment areas (including a 5 screen multiplex), a business hotel, serviced apartments, an IT park, residential areas and a club. Recently completed projects- Padma Vilas Enclave PVE was the first residential project in India to have received the highest CRISIL rating for residential projects in India. The rating indicates that the developer's ability to build the project to specified quality levels, time bound schedules and transfer of clear title is high. Also SSL is the first company in Pune to approach CRISIL for getting its projects rated which speaks of the company's confidence of delivering a quality product.
