Full Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible for working on the development and design, using new technology frameworks, and concepts to quickly deliver functionality for our customers. Some of the open-source frameworks. Technologies utilized in these initiatives include JSCP, JAVA 1.5,XML, HTTP, SOAP, AJAX DB2, MySQL. The developer will educate and mentor other associates in complex technical solutions to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working on agile teams developing software in a collaborative and iterative manner.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: No direct reports

Reports to : Team Leader

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and deliver quality applications on-time and on-budget and execution against project plans and delivery commitments. Solutions developed by the team using Java, XML, HTTP, SOAP, AJAX, Struts 2.0,Spring and other web technologies.

• Unit and system testing of application code, as well as execution of implementation activities.

• Analysis and identification of technical areas of improvement within existing web applications.

• Work in an agile environment (Some XP practices). Core practices include pair programming (when necessary), test-driven development, continuous integration, small release cycles, and collective code ownership.

• Help research and recommend open-source and other technology frameworks that can drive innovation and differentiation of our web sites

• Analysis of business requirements and subsequent creation of high level technical design documents and technical specifications, in accordance with company architecture standards.

• Unit and system testing of application code, as well as execution of implementation activities.

• Analysis and identification of technical areas of improvement within existing web applications.

• Work with other internal IT teams to complete project activities, such as Infrastructure, Architecture and Database teams.

• Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look out for new technologies and work with management and development team in bringing new technologies.

• Good written/verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
