Performs systems management and systems programming on the computing environment such as system configuration, trouble shooting, resource monitoring, and development of specialized programs. Provides support for specialized development activity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Installs, tests, maintains and documents systems software, operating systems, compilers, utility programs, communications software, teleprocessing monitors, database management systems, methodologies; modifies existing software and creates new software for specialized company needs; provides support of development activities that require specialized system programming including trouble shooting, monitoring and programming.
• Installs, tests, maintains and documents network software, hardware, operating systems including trouble shooting, and monitoring.
• Develops implements and administers processes, methodologies and procedures to assure proper and cost effective operations, development and governance as assigned.
• Leads or assists with leadership of projects.
• Provides technical support to the applications development and operations staff on the use and customization of system software products.
• Performs problem identification, investigation and resolution of systems and network software and computing and network hardware; performs system generation and adjustments, system and network configuration, system and network performance, system and network disaster recovery assistance, and compiles reports on operations.
• Participates in feasibility studies for the installation of new hardware, networks, and software and coordinates the corresponding changes.
• Develops and maintains tools for daily operational support.
• Creates and maintains systems programming standards in order to ensure consistency.
• Conducts complex technical analysis such as resolving complex operating systems problems or operating policies and methodologies in order to maintain production, development and governance operations.
• Provides on-call support to ensure operating systems availability and reliability.
• Coordinates operating system integration tests and implementations to maintain efficient operation.
